The 4 point pre-haircut checklist before you head down to The Men’s Room

Tom at The Men's Room

You know we like to troll ourselves (mostly Tom), but you also know we like to troll you lot from time to time, so here’s the latest instalment…

Congratulations, you’ve booked yourself a haircut, so the hard part is over or so you’d think. There’s always a few bumps in road before the cloak comes off and we reveal your new hair cut.

So we’ve put together this handy checklist to help you prepare for your appointment at The Men’s Room.

Check The Date And Time Of Your Booking

Honestly. Please. We are begging. Every week somebody turns up:

    • On the wrong day.
    • At the wrong time.
    • A week early.
    • A week late.
    • Somehow at the wrong shop.

We’ve even had people confidently walk in saying: “I’ve got an appointment now.” They did, but just not until next Thursday.

Before setting off, take 10 seconds to check your confirmation. It could save everybody a lot of confusion. Mostly us.

Have Some Idea What You Actually Want

You don’t need a PowerPoint presentation, but arriving with a vague instruction like: “Just make me look better”, leaves us with a lot of responsibility.

A photo helps, but don’t bring one of Brad Pitt – we’re barbers, not wizards.

Stop Cutting It Yourself Three Hours Before Your Appointment

If you’ve booked a barber appointment…the barber appointment is the plan.

There is absolutely no need to “just tidy the edges up” before you arrive.

Every time someone does this, an angel loses its fade.

Remember all those home cuts during the lockdown years? Exactly

Step away from the clippers. We’ve got this.

        Wash Your Hair

          There. We said it.

Look, we’re all friends here, but if your hair contains builder’s dust, three days of product, the remains of last night’s kebab…

Then give it a rinse people.

We know a lot of you include a hair wash in your booking which is all good, but for those of you who don’t like Tom’s choice of shampoo, then giving your hair a quick once over will be greatly appreciated … by your barber, and your scalp.

There, consider yourselves trolled. Now we can get back to taking the p*ss out of Tom.

See you soon, you beautiful bunch!
